Just like Myers, Voorhees and Krueger, I am back…again! This time under a new name but still the same horror loving maniac. I am starting my return with a 2022 SHUDDER original, WHO INVITED THEM…seriously though, who did?!

After moving into a new lavish house, Adam(Ryan Hansen) decides to throw a house warming party with hopes to impress his boss and people he works with. When two mysterious guests arrive without invitation and bring sinister games to the party.
So IMDB have this listed as comedy/horror, I must have lost my sense of humor because I found this to be a pretty straight up home invasion style thriller/horror movie. I mean yeah there was a couple of witty lines and comedic cringe worthy moments which happen during the actual house warming party but not enough for it to be labelled under the comedy genre. Once the uninvited guests (Granaderos and Mattfeld) are revealed after one or two mysterious moments with them and all of the other guests have left, the mood almost instantly changes and the suspense builds as to why these two people are here and what their intentions are.
Granaderos and Mattfeld play their roles fantastically, the way they are manipulating the hosts (Hansen and Tang) just constantly has you questioning why they are there and doing what they are doing. Although this is a slow burn movie, the mind games are enough to keep your interest before any action happens which is basically at the end of the movie and just when you think things are gonna get wild, it falls a little flat. What we do get to see is pretty good, nothing to over the top gory but this could have done with an extra 20-30 minutes of run time as I was left wanting more. It is not even a case of leaving you guessing, it just straight up leaves you a little disappointed. It sounds twisted to say but a little more torture and kill scenes to match the intensity of the suspense and it would have bumped this up a few extra ratings.
Speaking of ratings I’m giving this, short but suspenseful SHUDDER original, WHO INVITED THEM a 2.5/5. Even though it was lacking towards the end, It’s still an enjoyable watch.
