CREEP
Writer – Patrick Brice & Mark Duplass
Director – Patrick Brice
Cast – Patrick Brice & Mark Duplass
Plot – When a videographer answers an ad on Craigslist for a one day job in a remote town in the mountains, he soon gets more than he bargained for when things turn weird and his client is not all what he seems.
Creep was a movie that I went into after hearing very little about and never watching a trailer, which always makes me feel a little nervous and excited as you never know what to expected! however I did have pretty high hopes for this “found footage” film, there was just something about it that had me totally drawn in. At the start there were moments that had me thinking “what the hell am I watching?!” and some moments that just made you feel totally uncomfortable, it just seemed so bizarre but also had my entire attention as we got deeper into the story and later on is where things start to get really interesting as well as absolutely incredible and perfectly executed as it leads you into a false sense of security just like a brilliant horror film should do! For a movie filled with simplicity and only two members of cast, Creep delivered an experience filled with terror and panic that I will never forget. Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice give an amazing performance that has you sucked in and believing the story as it unfolds in front of your eyes, providing you are not hiding behind them behind your hands. I honestly feel like this has everything, sympathy for both characters as well as sheer terror and fear and total shock, it really deserves a lot more credit and love than it gets. I know “found footage” films get a lot of hate for the whole “shakey cam” thing but this is filmed so well its easy to ignore what you usually hate about this type of film, it is just perfectly done from the camera work to the acting!
This deeply disturbing and unnerving film is certainly perfect for the Halloween season!
Creep is definitely a 10/10 for me, I highly recommend this and would say its a must see and a must buy but it is streaming on U.K Netflix.
