WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE, It’s been a while. 2016 has been a tough year personally but it has delivered some exciting horror releases and some that came with a lot of hype but turned out to be quite disappointing. So to end this hectic year I will be sharing my top 10 horror movies and also talk about one of the movies that didn’t live up to the hype.
So, firstly here is my top 10.
- The Wailing
- The Witch
- Green Room
- Under the Shadow
- Don’t Breathe
- Train to Busan
- Lights Out
- Hush
- Viral
- The Shallows
For me, 1 to 6 are definitely must see movies and 7 to 10 are high priority rentals. The Wailing was a 10/10 for me, everything about it was just perfect and it certainly did not feel like a movie that was 2 hours 36 minutes long.
My Most Disappointing Movie of 2016

There was one movie I was really looking forward to this year and that was 31 (Rob Zombie). I had read from multiple sources that this would be his most violent film and that it would be one of the scariest this year. That really was not the case, nothing in that movie shocked me, it certainly wasn’t anywhere near the level of House of 1000 Corpses or The Devil’s Rejects. I rate it a 5/10 and call it a low priority rental IF you are a fan of Rob Zombie’s work.
With 2016 done with, it is time to look ahead to 2017 and keep hope that the promising horror releases for that year do not disappoint!
