Welcome to my nightmare. This is the second review in the Rob Zombie series, 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects, sequel to House of 1000 Corpses.

Cast – Sheri Moon Zombie, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Ken Foree, William Forsythe and Matthew Mcgrory
Director – Rob Zombie
Plot – The psychotic Firefly family are forced on the run after the vengeful Sheriff Wydell(William Forsythe) aims to hunt them down and seek payback for his brother, who fell victim to the family’s sadistic ways.
After watching House of 1000 Corpses, I didn’t have to wait long to see The Devil’s Rejects as I was introduced to both of them on the same night, which made for an awesome double feature. After seeing what antics the Firefly family got up to, I was intrigued to see what was next for this family of maniacs. Although this had a different feel to the film before, it still delivered the same level of madness and gore and had me hooked from start to finish.
I think it’s fair to say this was the movie that gained Zombie a lot of popularity in the horror community even though 1000 Corpses is regarded as a cult classic today, it didn’t really get the credit it deserves when released, then along came The Devil’s Rejects and won a lot of people over. There’s a few people I know who actually watched this movie without knowing about its prequel which shows its popularity. Filled with another great performance from cast members of both films and added with more great characters like Sheriff John Quincy Wydell ( Forsythe), Charlie Altamont (Foree), Rondo and Snapper( Danny Trejo & Dallas Page) this was destined for greatness.
For all you fans of gore, this does not disappoint as it has some brutal kill scenes and ones that will stick in your head for a long time! Although not as horrific and bizarre as House of 1000 Corpses, they are still effective.
It’s hard to choose a favourite so I’m giving this the same rating of 8.5/10 and recommend you buy The Devil’s Rejects!
Sad fact : The Devil’s Rejects was dedicated to Matthew Mcgrory who played Tiny in both movies and sadly passed away soon after the release.
